What a difference two days make!
On Friday I was going to take a picture of the two purple crocuses poking through the ground next to our bottom step and send the picture to our relatives in Ontario and Alberta, just to annoy them – the kind of puerile behaviour that people in Vancouver engage in every February. But I never got around to it and it’s too late now. This morning, for the first time in the 23 years that we have lived in this house, we were not able to get the car from our house to the corner – despite the fact that the car and its all-wearher radials are only six months old (see pictures of our street taken this morning at nine o’clock).
We were talking to Naomi in Guangzhou last night and she said that she was wearing shorts and a t-shirt! It’s patently unfair; we can’t get to Mass and our Sunday brunch. It is not even noon yet and I am bored (the Academy Awards are not on till 5:30 Pacific Standard Time) – thus this email! I am going to play Scrabble with Anne now That’s how desperate the situation is!
Update 6 March:
You will all be pleased to learn that the croci survived:
